Domaine de la Couvette has been passed from father to son since its creation back in 1870. Today they look after 13 hectares of vines in the appellation, many located on the clay limestone soils in and around the small village of Bully in the south of the region. Grapes are picked by hand and undergo carbonic maceration for 4 days before being slowly pressed. Traditional vinification takes place in cement tanks with native yeasts resulting in a beautiful ruby red wine, capturing all the freshness of Gamay. Fruity with spice and some earthy notes, well-balanced tannins, smooth minerality and a supple, easy-to-drink style.
